inspiration

Whenever I look at different peoples blogs, I always try to walk away with new ideas and inspiration. This next card was totally inspired by Laurie Willison's card. If you click on the link, you can tell it's almost alike! Thanks Laurie for your inspiration :) You're always giving me new ideas!

I went around the edges of the brown circles with some ink. I also folded up the edges of them to give them more effect and texture to the card. I really like this card! Maybe I should replicate cards more often! I hope you all had a great day!

stamped paper

Happy Monday!! Just a quick card to share with you today!

I've made a card sorta like this one before. I stamped the flower with 3 different colors to create my own patterned paper. It's very simple and easy to do!

anniversary

Today is my grandparents 65th anniversary! So I was asked to make a card for them. I used the flowers from the last card I made. Plus I also used the new polka dot impression plate! I really liked how this card turned out!

I made the front of the card shorter than the back, so the kraft paper hung off! I liked this idea, I'll have to try it more often! Now I'm off to eat at the Airport with my family! Have a great Sunday!

concert and new goodies

This is my second post for today! I never did talk about the concert I went to the other night! This summer, my friend and I heard that Chris Tomlin, a famous christian artist, was coming to Wichita. We wanted to buy tickets right away! We were looking forward to this concert forever and finally it came. It was at Central Christian Church and he was there with Louie Giglio, a famous speaker and Christy Nockels, a singer. Chris is probably my favorite artist, so it was really exciting to hear him live.
I'm on the left. We had a great time! We knew about every song except 2 so that's always a good thing. It was a very awesome and powerful concert! I think we both walked away from it, changed a little bit!

Like I said earlier, I went to Hobby Lobby. I didn't get anything real special but, it's always nice to come home with something new to craft with. Here's the items that I bought, plus it's hard to get a lot since I'm buying and I don't have a job right now.

polka dot impression plate

A couple different pattern papers, the one on the left is really interesting. It has texture to it and kinda see through. I'm excited to try it out!

And my two new stamps. I needed some sympathy and thanksgiving stamps. I make cards for the nursing home here in town to sell, where my dad works. So they always need sympathy/thinking of you and holiday cards! Those were my purchases for today! I know, its not much. But I'm just getting started on this hobby and still young! Thanks for stopping!

not what I thought

I was really excited to make this card. I liked the colors and the new idea. But it definitely didn't turn out as good as I had hoped! I guess I'll just learn from my mistakes.

And sorry about the bad picture taking. All around this wasn't the best card!
I got a few new things this afternoon at Hobby Lobby, that I'm excited about! I'll have to show you some of that another time. I can't wait to sit down and craft a little tonight! Have a great evening :)

flower ribbon

I've been wanting to try out this new ribbon that I bought. I have seen a couple people use it on their cards, so I thought I would give it a try!

It's so fun and unique! I will definitely have to use it more often. I hope you had a great Friday :)

splatter paint

I'm done with volleyball for the year! We had our last game last night and we did awesome! We played Rose Hill, to whom we lost to everytime we played them this year. It was senior night, on our home court and our last game so we had to win it, and we did :) Here's a few pictures from this season:

I'm number 21 in these pictures. Now moving on to the card. I've been seeing a couple cards lately where they have splattered them a little bit with paint. I really wanted to try that technique. Here's how it came out:

I hope you enjoyed this card!

band and buttons

So I just typed up a whole blog post and I guess it had an error saving so it wouldn't even let me post it! I lost it all! Here's the shorter recap of what I had posted. We had KSU marching band competition this weekend. Our director, Stambaugh, said this was the best performance from us in 8 years! We were all SO excited! They don't give out 1st, 2nd or 3rd. We got a superior with about 20 other bands. But we knew we were probably the best one there. Our director also got a Silver Baton award which is like best director or something. If you would like to see our performance, heres the link: KSU competition

I made a few cards yesterday, here's one of them:

I don't know what the smudge is in the bottom right. Have a happy Monday, thanks for stopping by!

always running

Ohhhh, it's been way too long! I haven't even had the chance to look at blogs for about a week and a half now. I'm definitely behind. But at least school, volleyball, band and hanging out with friends are good things to get in the way of blogging! I've been having fun, so that's always good! I haven't had time either to sit down and just craft since my last assignment with those 8 cards. Here's my latest though:

I stamped the background with versa mark, if you couldn't tell. It's kind of light. And of course, my go to flowers. That's it for today! I'm just trying to get caught up here. I hope you have a fabulous week :)
